The February print drop marks a very important departure for Dusty Adventure in two big ways. One, it is the first time that prints will be available for sale. The second (and most exciting) part of this release is that all of the printing will be done in-studio by the artist. This means that he has complete control of the quality and craftsmanship that goes into creating his fine art photographic prints. Photography for him is so much about the tangible image embedded in the fibers of paper and that process of bringing a print to life. Printing traditionally in the color darkroom was important to Dusty during his studies in college. It helped inform his intent and what the medium meant to him. Printing his own work again will add another layer to his craft. By supporting the artist, you are allowing him to create more images and exposing the world to more of his creative light. These images come from the series called Poems for Colorado that were taken in the Centennial State in the past year and a half. As a whole they are a visual poetic hymn dedicated to Colorado. Rocky and solid yet subtle and gentle. It is the place that Dusty calls home. The images take you through high mountain passes and guide you as you descend from the snowy summits to the lake and river shallows of Colorado’s most important resource, water. You pass some local residents in the journey and bears witness to the landscape through the changing seasons of Colorful Colorado.
