Dusty Adventure’s photographs lie somewhere between the reality of worldly places and the imaginative narratives of epic landscapes and golden light. Colors and textures create rich depth in my work from the surface of water to wide open skies filled with billowing clouds. I have such an appreciation for the landscape. When I connect with it, I am compelled to make images that reveal the beauty in its fragility and uniqueness. Interactions of land, sky, flora, and fauna become a connected web of visual language that informs the work. A small blade of grass speaks to me the same way as a sweeping view from a mountain summit. Each element has its place in my work. The human experience in the landscape is also a recurring theme in my work. The intersection of humans and wilderness start with roads that lead us to trails and open waters that allow us to explore the adventure of wild places. Through these adventures we learn about the meaning of our undeniable relationship to the environment and what it means to live on planet earth.
